Tikkun Clubhouses for Youth
Tikkun Clubhouses for Youth promote youth leadership in neighborhoods in the socio-geographical periphery in Israel. Our clubhouses constitute a unique, multi-dimensional model that integrates social encounter, a youth club with special responses to the needs of youth at risk, and guidance and volunteering activities within the HaMahanot HaOlim youth movement. Tikkun Clubhouses for Youth programs includes a track for a year of volunteering in the community as part of a group of volunteers that live and work together. An experience that is both empowering for the volunteers and beneficial for Israeli society. These club-houses for youth operate in the Northern Quarter of Nof Hagalil, in Ya’arat HaEmek in Migdal HaEmek, and in Kidmat Rishon (Ganei Esther) in Rishon LeZion. The youngsters function as a peer group, as entrepreneurs of processes within their groups, in the community and in broader society, and gain experience in social involvement, critical discourse and creative thinking. In these settings, these adolescents learn that together, they have the strength to generate change.
